Dear Elementary Parents,
As you know, our nation is in the throes of dealing with COVID-19, a very contagious virus that can cause serious health issues, including to those who are elderly or have respiratory health problems. Although COVID-19 is not currently known to be present in our county, there have been confirmed cases in our state and it is expected to spread.
In order to slow the spread of this virus, the decision has been made for the Community R-VI School District to suspend classes beginning on Thursday, March 19, 2020, through Friday, April 3, 2020. The school hopes to reopen on Monday, April 6, 2020. However, the date to reopen may be extended depending upon the current status of the virus in our state. This suspension will include all extracurricular activities as well.
A packet will be going home today with your student. The packet will explain the teaching instructions for your child for the next two weeks. Our staff is working diligently to prepare alternative instructions as we work to minimize the impact of this situation. This is a new experience for our school so your patience and understanding is appreciated.
We are working on Internet accessibility (free Wi-Fi Hotspot locations) for Laddonia, Martinsburg, Benton City, and Rush Hill. Please monitor both our Community R-VI School District Facebook Page and our website (www.CR6.net) daily for updates.
If you have any questions or concerns about this, please contact us at 855-708-7567. Thank you for your continued support.

Dear Elementary Parents/Guardians,
With the coming closure of the school, we want our students to be equipped to complete all learning they need within their homes. We will be sending home a chrome book with your child at the end of the day tomorrow.
This device is the property of the Community R-VI School District. The supplied device will provide each student access to educational materials needed for each student to be successful. The Chromebook allows student access to Google Apps for Education, educational web-based tools, as well as many other useful sites. The supplied device is an educational tool not intended for gaming, social networking or high-end computing.
Please go over the following guidelines with your student prior to it being sent home.
Taking Care of Your Device General Precautions :
Students will take care of the device following the school rules and expectations as presented when they are in school.
Only use a clean, soft cloth to clean the screen.
Never use cleansers or liquid solutions to clean the screen.
Use care when plugging cords or cables into the device to prevent damage.
Community R-VI owned devices and cases must remain free of writing, drawing, stickers, or labels that were not placed on the device by the school.
Devices must never be left unattended in public or in plain view in a car.
Excessive pressure on the screen of the device can cause damage. Be mindful not to lean on or place heavy items on top of the device.
It is the responsibility of the student and guardian to maintain these expectations and take care of the school-issued Chromebook. The device will be returned to Community R-VI in the condition it was sent home when school resumes. Please sign below and return this letter to school TOMORROW so that materials can be sent home with your child.
I _________________________________________________________ agree to the terms above and support the use of the chromebook coming home to enhance learning.
